# Ro pricing: the membership, the dose ladder, and what titration adds

Ro is the only provider here that publishes a full dose ladder — and the one where the bill is designed to rise as your dose does. Here is what each rung costs.

Ro started in 2017 as Roman, a sexual-health brand, and has since become one of the broadest direct-to-consumer menus in American telehealth. It is privately held, so unlike Hims there are no annual reports to read — what is public is what Ro chooses to publish, plus the third-party review and accreditation records.

What it chose to publish, unusually, is the whole dose ladder. Every other provider in this market quotes a single figure with the word “from” in front of it. Ro prints what each rung costs. That is worth something, and it is also the thing that makes this page longer than the others.

## Priced by dose, and the dose is meant to climb

GLP-1 treatment escalates. You start low to build tolerance and move up over the first months toward a maintenance dose. On a flat-rate plan that is invisible. Here it is on the invoice.

Tirzepatide runs $299 at the 2.5 mg starting rung, $399 at 5 mg, and $449 from 7.5 mg through 15 mg. Add the membership and the all-in figure moves from $448 in month one to $598 by the time you are at a therapeutic dose. Semaglutide is flatter — $349 at every dose from 0.25 to 2.4 mg, with a separate $399 rung for the 7.2 mg high-dose pen.

Neither of those is the number in the advertising, which brings us to the second thing worth knowing.

## The $199 figure has fine print

Ro advertises semaglutide from $199 a month. That price is real, and it applies to the 0.25 and 0.5 mg doses — the rungs you pass through on the way up, not the ones you stay on. It also has a sign-up deadline of 31 December 2026 attached.

Ro states elsewhere that it charges the same as LillyDirect, NovoCare and TrumpRx. At $349 that is exactly true. At $199 it is not, because the manufacturers’ own programs do not run that promotion. Both statements sit on the same site.

None of this is hidden — it is printed, which is more than most of this market manages. It just is not what the banner says.

## The membership, and the one genuinely useful tool

The membership is separate from the medication, as it is at Hims: $39 to start, then $149 a month, falling to $74 a month if you prepay a year. Ro does not publish what medication costs on the twelve-month plan, so we do not quote a combined annual figure.

The insurance checker is the piece worth singling out. Branded GLP-1 is the only category in this market where a health plan sometimes pays, and Ro is the only provider we cover that lets you find out before you have an account. Running it takes a minute and can change the entire calculation.

## How to start

**1. Run the insurance check before anything else**

Ro is the only provider we cover with a public coverage checker you can use before signing up. Branded GLP-1 is the one category where insurance sometimes pays, and finding out costs you nothing.

**2. Price the dose you will be on in month three, not month one**

Tirzepatide starts at $299 for the 2.5 mg rung and rises to $399 at 5 mg and $449 from 7.5 mg up. Since the dose normally climbs each month, the number to budget against is $449 plus membership, not $299.

**3. Choose the membership term deliberately**

The membership is $39 to start and $149 a month on the one-month plan, dropping to $74 a month if you prepay twelve. That is the second-largest lever on your total after the dose itself.

**4. Complete the intake and the labs**

Pricing for your specific medication appears inside the onboarding quiz rather than on the marketing pages. A licensed provider reviews your intake; labs run through Quest.

## Who this fits, and who it does not

### A fit if

- You want to find out whether insurance covers any of it. Ro publishes a GLP-1 insurance checker, and no other provider we cover offers one.
- You want the approved product. The GLP-1 menu is branded throughout — Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Saxenda and Foundayo — through the manufacturers' direct programs.
- You want the price of your actual dose in advance. Ro is the only provider here that prints a rung-by-rung ladder rather than a single 'from' figure.
- You want a broad branded menu on one account: weight loss, sexual health, hair, dermatology and fertility testing.

### Look elsewhere if

- You need a fixed monthly cost. On tirzepatide the medication moves from $299 to $449 as the dose climbs, so the all-in figure goes from $448 to $598 across the first few months.
- You are relying on the advertised $199 semaglutide price. That figure applies only to the 0.25 and 0.5 mg doses and carries a 31 December 2026 sign-up deadline; the ladder price at every dose is $349.
- You are shopping on price. Ro is the most expensive entry point in this set at $448 a month all-in for the Zepbound KwikPen, against compounded programs elsewhere that start under $200.
- You want prescription testosterone replacement. What Ro sells under testosterone is an over-the-counter supplement, not an approved TRT product.

### Why does my bill go up if the drug is the same?

Because it is priced per dose, and GLP-1 treatment is designed to escalate. Most people start at the lowest rung and move up monthly until they reach a maintenance dose. Ro is unusual in publishing this rather than quoting one figure, which makes it easier to plan and more expensive to ignore.

### Does Ro take insurance?
