# Hims pricing: the membership, the medication, and what a month really costs

Hims prices the membership and the drug as two separate things, and only one of them is in the headline. Here is what each plan covers and what the second line adds.

Hims is the men’s brand of Hims and Hers Health, the only publicly traded company in this market. That matters less for the medicine than for the paperwork: it files annual reports and its numbers are audited, so what the business is doing is visible without having to reconstruct it.

In 2026 it moved almost entirely off compounded GLP-1 and onto branded, FDA-approved medication supplied through the manufacturers’ own self-pay programs — NovoCare for the Novo Nordisk products, LillyDirect for Eli Lilly’s. If you want the drug that was actually in the trials, this is one of the two places in our set that sells it.

## The headline number is half the bill

Hims prices membership and medication as two separate subscriptions, and only the second one appears in the advertising.

The membership is $39 for the first month and $149 a month after that, for as long as you stay. It buys provider access and support, and their own page says plainly that it does not include or guarantee a prescription. The medication is billed on top: from $149 a month for the oral products, $199 for the Wegovy pen, $299 for the Zepbound vial or KwikPen.

So the real figures are $348 a month for branded semaglutide and $448 for branded tirzepatide, with a cheaper first month because of the $39 introductory membership. Anyone who walks away holding only the “from $149” number will be badly out.

## The dose ladder nobody prints

There is a second gap, and it is the one worth asking about before you commit.

Hims names the doses on its weight-loss page — 0.25 mg for building tolerance, 2.4 mg for maintenance — without putting a price against any of them. The two other sellers of the same Novo product do discount the low rungs: Ro lists $349 across the range with $199 as a limited promotion, and NovoCare charges $349 ongoing after $199 for the first two fills.

That pattern makes it likely Hims has some structure at the low doses too. But likely is not published, and we quote what a provider prints rather than inferring what it probably does. Ask what your specific dose costs, and what it will cost when you titrate up.

## Approved and compounded, sold side by side

The GLP-1 line is fully branded, but the rest of the catalog is not, and the page layout does not separate them.

The hair products are the clearest case: oral finasteride and topical minoxidil are FDA-approved drugs with decades of history, and the Hair Hybrids sprays and chewables are compounded, meaning no FDA review of safety, effectiveness or manufacturing. Both sit in the same grid of cards. The disclosure that says which is which is at the bottom of the page.

The same applies to testosterone. What is sold here is built on enclomiphene rather than the approved formats — cypionate injections, a topical gel, an approved oral — so if replacement therapy is what you came for, this is not it.

## How to start

**1. Add the two numbers together first**

Nothing on the weight-loss page is a complete price. Medication starts at $149 a month and the membership is $149 a month on top, so the cheapest real monthly figure is around $298, and the Wegovy pen lands at $348. Work out your own total before the intake, not after it.

**2. Decide branded pill or branded pen**

The oral products — Wegovy Pill, Ozempic Pill, Foundayo — are the $149 tier. The injectable pens are $199 for semaglutide and $299 for tirzepatide through LillyDirect. This is a bigger lever on cost than anything else you will choose.

**3. Complete the intake**

Care is asynchronous by default: you answer questions, a licensed provider reviews them, and in states that require live audio or video you get a call instead. Eligibility is decided by their clinicians.

**4. Plan the insurance paperwork yourself**

Hims does not bill insurance. Their own guidance is to pay by card and submit for FSA or HSA reimbursement afterwards rather than running an FSA card at checkout, so keep the receipts.

## Who this fits, and who it does not

### A fit if

- You want the FDA-approved product rather than a compounded version of it. The GLP-1 menu here is branded — Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Foundayo — supplied through the manufacturers' own direct programs.
- You want a company you can look up. Hims and Hers is publicly traded on the NYSE and files annual reports with the SEC, which no other provider we cover does.
- You want the longest paper trail on this list. Hims has been a BBB Accredited Business since February 2018, and its compounded exposure is narrow and disclosed — hair hybrids, enclomiphene and custom skincare, not the GLP-1 menu you are here for.
- You want more than weight loss from one account — sexual health, hair, mental health and a lab panel all sit on the same login.

### Look elsewhere if

- You are shopping on price. The all-in figure runs $348 to $448 a month on the partner tiers and $2,048 on full-retail branded Mounjaro, against compounded programs elsewhere that start under $200.
- You want to know what your dose will cost. Hims names the doses without a price against any of them, and comparable sellers of the same products do discount the lower rungs, so the ladder here is simply not published.
- You want a compounded GLP-1. Hims exited that market in 2026 and sells none.
- You want FDA-approved testosterone replacement. The testosterone offering is built on enclomiphene, not on cypionate, a topical gel or an approved oral.
